Everything on these forty acres was built new at once, which is why the showers have good water pressure and the laundry is where you’d want it. Guests notice. They mention it more than the pool.
Shallow at both ends
Which sounds like a small thing until you are the parent of a four-year-old. The pool is open for the season — come and relax poolside and take a dip whenever the sun gets too warm.
No pets and no smoking or vaping in the pool area. Season dates and daily hours are posted at the pool gate.
Firewood, ice, a forgotten phone charger, and a geode to crack
The store covers the basics — the things you discover you left at home about an hour after you arrive. It is also where you buy a mining bucket, register your pets, and ask the question you have been meaning to ask.
There is a neon sign on the wall that reads the sappiest place on earth. It is the most photographed thing in the park, and it tells you most of what you need to know about the people who built it.

On-site, in the same building as the bathhouse. Cost per load is posted inside.
Smoke-free buildings
The bathhouse, the laundry and the office and store are all smoke-free, along with the cabins.
We are dog people
It matters to us that the furry guests have a good time too. There’s a fenced dog park a short walk from the sites where they can be off the lead — and twenty acres of mown trail for a proper walk.
Elsewhere in the park, a lead no longer than six feet. Clean up straight away and use the bins at your own site rather than the ones at the bathhouse or the store. Sorry — dogs only in the dog park.
Up to two dogs or cats per reservation, on sites and in cabins. Register them at the front office when you arrive.

Not every amenity runs year-round — the pool in particular is seasonal.
