Rules and policies, plainly put
None of this is unusual. It exists so that forty acres of pine stays quiet, safe and pleasant for the family two sites over.
If you read nothing else
Your furry friends are our furry friends
Dogs and cats, up to two per reservation, on RV sites, tent sites and in cabins. Register them at the front office when you arrive — vaccination records may be requested. Cabin pet fees are applied during booking.
- A lead no longer than six feet outside your RV or cabin, unless you’re inside the dog park fence. Sorry — dogs only in the dog park.
- Clean up immediately. Use the bin at your own campsite, not the ones at the bathhouse, laundry, office or store. There is a $10 fine per incident, and repeat incidents can mean leaving without a refund.
- Dogs may not be left unattended outside, or tied to an RV or cabin.
- Pets must be quiet during quiet hours. Excessive barking or aggression at any hour may mean being asked to leave without a refund.
- Pets are not permitted in the office, restrooms, showers, laundry, pool or playground.
In the designated pit, and never unattended
Every site and cabin has a fire pit. Fires go in it and nowhere else, and the pits do not move.
- Gather dead wood from the ground only. Do not cut, remove, prune or injure living trees or bushes, and do not drag in limbs larger than the pit.
- Don’t transport raw firewood — the NC Forest Service asks that you buy it where you burn it, and that only heat-treated wood travels.
- No burning rubbish.
- All fires supervised, and extinguished before you leave the site.
Smoking and vaping
Not permitted in the cabins, the pool area or any building. The cabins, bathhouse, laundry and office and store are smoke-free. Evidence of smoking inside a cabin carries a minimum charge. Please dispose of butts properly — we’re an environmentally conscious park, and butts on the ground or in fire pits are not acceptable.
Five miles an hour
Posted, and meant. Children and pets are everywhere. Golf carts are permitted and keep to the same limit; ATVs are not permitted in the campground.
Alcohol
Permitted at your site or in your cabin. No public intoxication, no underage drinking.
Conduct
Profanity, abusive language and physical violence are not permitted. No fireworks, firearms or explosives in the campground.
Guests and ages
No guest under 21 on the property without a parent. Cabins are limited to five people per unit; RV sites to six, with one tent per site. Day visitors should be cleared with the office.
Oh bummer — we hate that we won’t get to host you
Cancellations are allowed, and the fee depends on how close to arrival you are. Use the link in your original booking confirmation, or email hello@inthepinesrv.com.

Avoiding a damage charge is straightforward: bag your rubbish, wash and put away the cabin dishes, keep the linens intact, don’t check in early or out late without approval, and don’t smoke indoors.
